~*~Music is the language of our soul~*~

« on: January 11, 2010, 11:54:08 PM »

What's happenin', rockstars?  This thread is not only for those of us who are lucky enough to be heading to the islands to witness the magic but for those fans who will be left behind.  There will be pictures uploaded everyday and video to make you feel like you were truly there.  Setlists will also be posted.  Feel free to ask questions about the trip, request songs, suggest certain wild photos be taken (ie. Steve Dave riding a donkey), and even buffalo a band member if you catch them with a drink in their right hand in any of the photos taken.  Sorry everyone can't be there... but we'll be sending the warm vibes.  Here's the schedule;  if you know anyone in these areas send them on over:

Wed, 1/13 - Fat Turtle - St. Thomas
Thu, 1/14 - Jack's Wings - St. Thomas
Fri, 1/15 - Beach Bar - St. John
Sat, 1/16 - Larry's Landing - St. John
Sun, 1/17 - Island Blues - St. John
Mon, 1/18 - Rhumb Lines - St. John
Tues, 1/19 - OFF - St. John
Wed, 1/20 - OFF - Travel to St. Croix
Thu - 1/21 - Brew Pub - St. Croix
Fri, 1/22 - Club 54 - St. Croix
Sat, 1/23 - Angry Nates - St. Croix
Sun, 1/22 - Lost Dog Pub - St. Croix
Mon, 1/23 - OFF - St. Croix
Tues, 1/24 - HOME

Good times are to be head right-a-near-da-beach, boyyyyyyy Rock On!

I've got two song request right off the bat.  Yellow Woman and Sticks and Stones!  Wish I could have made the run but my job sucks and I couldn't take the time off.

It would be cool to get a pic of the boys playing chicken in some crystal blue water, Nate on Tom's shoulders and Adam on SteveDave's.  That would be super bad ass!   Rock On!

Hope everyone has a great time, and maybe next year I'll come along for the ride.

RAWK ON!!!!

 Cheers!

First update:

all systems go. They took our guitars at the gate so we'll just hope they make the gig. Steve Dave offered to take his pants off at security. They respectfully declined.

Nate,
I'm really glad that you guys got a chance to do this tour again, especially at this time of year. The tour schedule looks even bigger than last year, so you should have a great time,  but there's one thing I just never understood. Who's the audience? A bunch of plumbers from Indiana??? It's not even spring break, when at least there'd be a bunch of young people there. Who's going to go see a psychedelic ORIGINAL rock band at a beach bar in St Croix??? Do you guys have a secret set list of Jimmy Buffett covers that nobody knows about?? I just don't get it.
BTW, Can't wait for the Lizard gigs, hope Johnny T's still playing with you at those shows.

mAn! It's a pain in the ass to share using nates iPhone! Let's see... Yesterday was a long outstanding day. I tagged along with steve Dave and n-dawg. We climbed to the highest point in st. Thomas hugging the turns as we tried to not throw up due to the amount of drinking that ensued. Web and Christina from wzin "the buzz" welcomed us with coffee and water. Thank gawd! The interview was a hit. Steve Dave took the reins and well... Stay tuned for video from the car ride. Pool side waiting for 6 chicken sandwiches for 1 plus hours and mistah Arey was buffaloed at 10:19am. You can only imagine the day we had. Cabbie is here and everyones waiting. Much love! Yellow woman and sticks and stones were played night 1 & 2 for you kennay! Peace!!!

Wazzzup ya nwg freaks?! Where do I begin? Last nights show at the Beach Bar was out of this world. There was truly cause for celebration when the rain finally stopped. However that didn't ruin our good time. So many northeasternersssss out on this island! Well, do you blame 'em? How's the weather back home? It's freaking gorgeous here. Sticks and Stones, Unbound, and Justify were well represented from "Unbound"... the new stuff is siiiiiiiiick! Sound Overkill was strong. I personally think Tom Arey is a god on the kit so as a thanks for rockin my world I hopped up on stage and danced to his groove Steve Dave came up and took a solo when Tom finished up. Thieves yeow! Amelia was hands down the best I've ever heard it. My new favorite tune is Bleeding Window. I hope to see you al at the lizard lounge Thursdays in feb! I'll be back with more to report. Fresh sushi awaits

RIGHT ON!  I love me some Sticks and Stones and Yellow Woman has been on repeat on my ipod since last January's show at the Asylum.  If the band heads down to USVI next year I'm quiting my job and going.  Would much rather be warm RAWKING out to my favorite band  than be in Vermont freezing my ass off.

This year's trip is perhaps best summed up with these three words:

Meat Soda BAND.  Turn on your heart stache!

Maybe they don't get what "Blog" really means...?
How are we supposed to live this trip vicariously through you, if you don't tell us stories about it???

Chill out dudes... you're on island time now.  It was extremely difficult to find internet access but I assure you you'll hear plenty of stories in the next week. I was working on updating the travel log via iphone... not easy. I've just arrived back in the US and have plenty to talk about.  But tonight, I rest. The guys are in St. Croix right now after a 6 hour sail from St. John.  I wonder how it went?  Anyone sea sick  Puke City ?!  My bet is that Steve Dave was the first to hang over the side of the boat.  The dude hasn't taken a night off from the party life since they've arrived.  It's quite impressive actually.  I don't know how he does it.  Meh, when in Rome.  I'll put up some pictures tomorrow.   Rock On! What a beautiful time it was.

Sorry peeps

haven't had stellar internet access
we're at the condo in St. Croix and its pretty sweet and we have access now so hopefully we'll be able to update a little better.
Gigs have been great! the attendance at the shows has tripled since last year which is sweet considering we're just happy to be here in the middle of winter. Also Johnny Trama has been fitting in great musically and its been nice to play almost every night to really grease the wheels on all the new material.

Steve Dave is running for mayor of Cruz Bay and I personally think he's got a legit shot.

I literally kissed the earth after the 8 hour sail from St. John yesterday.  Puke City
Sailing is not a hobby I'll be taking up any time soon.

We're playing the Brew Pub on St. Croix tonight which is the legendary spot where stevedave danced on the bar and threw a bar stool across the room last year. Believe it or not they're psyched to have us back!

more updates later.....
